I have had this question asked of me numerous times. My WHY is this: I want to be fit and healthy so that my family sees that it is possible. In my family we have a history of heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and high blood pressure and I want to dodge ALL of these illnesses!
I want to teach my family, by leading them into a healthier lifestyle and showing them that they can slow down and/or reverse many of the health issues they have. It frightens me to think that some ugly disease that could be prevented could take one of loved ones away from me or me away from them. I made a change in my lifestyle, I exercise everyday, eat healthy and have a new outlook on life.
I believe this: In order to make these changes, it is imperative for you to change your mindset. You will never succeed at anything until you believe you can do it. You have to see yourself succeeding at whatever you want and then work toward your goal. You must push all the negativity and destructive thinking out of your mind and your life, this includes those people who always seem to have something bad or non-nurturing to say about or to you. You do not need those people in your life, they will bring you down and stunt your growth and progress. You must always, everyday work on you…self-development, self-improvement. [...]
